0.0 Start at the Barr Trail trailhead at the parking area on Hydro Street (GPS: 38.855768, –104.933923).

0.3 At the junction go right on the main trail.

1.0 Pass the 7,200-foot elevation marker.

1.8 Rest at the overlook rocks. (Option: Turn around here for a 3.6-mile round-trip hike.)

2.6 Reach the Eagle’s Nest Trail intersection (GPS: 38.856427, –104.954929). Go right on the Eagle’s Nest Trail.

3.2 Arrive at the Eagle’s Nest Picnic Area (GPS: 38.858432, –104.947980) on top of the Manitou Incline Trail. Retrace your steps back to Barr Trail.

6.4 Arrive back at the trailhead.
